Fort Stewart's deputy commanders named Col. Tom Vandal has been named Fort Stewart's new Deputy Division Commander for Support. He arrived to the Savannah area just two weeks ago from Germany, where he served as the commander of the Operations Group of the Joint Multinational Readiness Center in Hohenfels, just north of Munich. Woman arrested for Pembroke stabbing A Pembroke resident was arrested after a stabbing Friday afternoon, according to the Pembroke Police Department. Amy Sheree McGirt, 25, was picked up Saturday morning in Ellabell after she allegedly fled Friday from the crime scene, a trailer near the Leggett’s Stop and Go on North Main Street.
