Richmond Hill High School suffered its first Region 3-AAAAA baseball loss Tuesday, falling 3-2 to Glynn Academy in Brunswick.

The Fifth Annual Wildcat Classic will be is from 7-10 p.m. Friday, March 22 and 4-8 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the South Bryan County Recreation Department Rec Gym, located at 508 Timber Trail Road. There will be games featuring former Wildcatss from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. In addition, there will be a 3-point shooting contest for a $50 cash prize and a free throw shooting contest for a $25 cash prize.
The Bryan County Middle School boys' track team finished first in a home meet that included Portal, Jenkins County, and Claxton. The boys were able to rack up 185 points. Jenkins County finished 2nd with 112 points.

Alana Walker went 2-for-4 with two RBIs to lead Bryan County to a 6-3 win over Atkinson County on Tuesday in Pembroke. Taylor Roop, Brooke Barfield and Paige Shuman also had hits for the Lady Redskins. Walker got the win, pitching four innings and striking out two. Barfield threw three innings in relief, picking up four strikeouts.

Logan Harrell homered twice and Brooke Barfield scattered eight hits and struck out five in seven innings to lead Bryan County to a 7-4 win over McIntosh County Academy on Tuesday in Pembroke. The win improved the Lady Redskins to 5-4 overall and 4-4 in 2-AA, according to gamechangers.com.

Richmond Hill High School (1-0) is starting to get some traction around the state in terms of attention in polls. The Wildcats, who won 29-7 over Johnson last week, got two votes in Class AAAAA in the Saturday Morning Quarterback coaches poll while MaxPreps has the Wildcats at No. 19 in AAAAA. Both rankings are touted and linked on the program's website, http://rhfootball.net/. The Wildcats play host to Beach at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Bryan County, which also won its opener - and did so in convincing fashion by beating Calvary Day, 40-29, is at Toombs County.
The Marine Rescue Squadron Richmond Hill 7A, a not-for-profit organization, is sponsoring its annual golf tournament fundraiser on Friday, Oct. 4, at Sterling Links Golf Club in Richmond Hill. The tee time is 9 a.m., shotgun start. Proceeds from the tournament are used to fund volunteer rescue and recovery operations in and around the Richmond Hill waterways that aid local law enforcement and the U.S. Coast Guard.
