The boys' and girls basketball teams at Bryan County High School advanced in the Region 2-AA basketball tournament. The girls beat Long County 59-39, the boys downed Atkinson County 66-64.

Lady Redskins get key win
Georgia Game Changers Running Company and Jalapeno's Mexican Restaurant have partnered with the largest grassroots running organization in the country, the Road Runners Club of America, to promote the 9th Annual RUN@WORK Day on Sept. 19.
The Redskins defense played lights out, Jeremy McClendon threw a 42-yard pass touchdown pass to Marcus Johnson and Christian Thomas added a 40-yard field goal to propel Bryan County High School to a 10-7 win over Southeast Bulloch in a Thursday night game.

Richmond Hill's softball team was in Springfield Tuesday afternoon where the Lady Rebels took a 4-1 win in a Region 3-AAAAA game. Official stats have yet to be posted but according to box scores available one maxpreps.com the Wildcats had a 1-0 lead in the first inning. The Effingham girls quickly turned the game to their advantage adding two runs in the second inning and driving in two more unanswered runs in the third for the victory.
