Eagles get first-round bye

STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern football learned its playoff fate on Sunday morning, drawing a matchup against the winner of Old Dominion and Norfolk State in the round of 16 on December 3rd, 2011. The Eagles make their 18th playoff appearance and are playing for their seventh NCAA FCS National Championship.

Fishy Invite sees RHHS runners fare well

This past Thursday, the Richmond Hill High School Cross Country team hosted their 5th annual Fishy Invitational. With pristine running conditions from mid-afternoon until the late evening, 511 runners from 29 different schools throughout the coastal empire attended the meet.

Wildcats fall short

The Richmond Hill Wildcats hosted the Effingham County Rebels Friday and got sucker punched 24-20 en route to their third consecutive loss. The Wildcats nearly pulled out a win on a 92-yard drive late in the 4th quarter but came up three yards short of the winning touchdown as time expired on the clock.

Lady Redskins fall to Vidalia

It took nine innings to decide the winner and unfortunately for the Lady Redskins the Vidalia Softball team claimed the 9-6 win. Bryan County High School's late inning game was then followed by an 8-0 shutout loss to Vidalia during the first round of the Region 2-AA playoffs held Thursday.
