The new Golden Isles Players Tour is a regional tour for junior players who are looking for the opportunity to move to the next level of competitive golf. The Golden Isles Junior Tour (GIJT) and the new Golden Isles Players Tour (GIPT) are open for registration as both tours near their kick-off events for the 2012 season.

The Richmond Hill Wildcats hosted the Effingham County Rebels Friday and got sucker punched 24-20 en route to their third consecutive loss. The Wildcats nearly pulled out a win on a 92-yard drive late in the 4th quarter but came up three yards short of the winning touchdown as time expired on the clock.
Effingham County knocked off Richmond Hill 24-20.
It took nine innings to decide the winner and unfortunately for the Lady Redskins the Vidalia Softball team claimed the 9-6 win. Bryan County High School's late inning game was then followed by an 8-0 shutout loss to Vidalia during the first round of the Region 2-AA playoffs held Thursday.
