The Hendrix Park 14U Girls softball team won the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association District 2 Class C tournament in Baxley on Tuesday. The team went undefeated in the tournament and now goes on to play July 11-13 in Madison for the GRPA state Class C title.

Richmond Hill High School lost to Warner Robins Friday night in the second round of the Class AAAAA playoffs. The 45-28 score sent the Demons into the quarter finals of the state playoffs and ended Wildcats season.

It took Richmond Hill High School 17 years to be able host a playoff game, and the Wildcats surged forward off of two Nick Fitzgerald rushing touchdowns for a 13-7 victory over Thomas County Central.

Richmond Hill won its first home playoff game since 1996, against Thomas Co Central, 13-7. The Wildcats will face Warner Robbins next week in the Sweet 16.
