The Hendrix Park 12U All-Stars are headed to the state Georgia Recreation and Parks Association championship tournament in Berrien County next weekend. High caliber wrestlers from Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Florida attended Arturo Holmes' The Wresting Center Camp Tuesday at Richmond Hill High School. The 46 participants were coached by Arturo Holmes, who puts on clinics like this one across the nation, according to RHHS wrestling coach Bob Parker, who says the school is "fortunate to have him here." Parker thanked Richmond Hill youth wrestling coach Dan Krug and the Director of South Bryan County Recreation Kay Green for helping put the camp together.
The South Bryan County Recreation Department's 8U team has advanced to the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association state tournament after finishing second in the District 2 tourney. The state tourney is July 9-12 in Sylvania.
