Simerly leads Stingrays to NSA title

The 18U Stingrays fast pitch softball team won the National Softball Association state championship for the second year in a row in Dalton on July 10-11. Lauren Simerly of Richmond Hill, doubled in two runs to clinch the NSA State Championship and also was winning pitcher. The Stingrays will travel to Chattanooga on July 25-29 to participate in the NSA World Series.

Hendrix Park 12U All-Stars headed to GRPA state tournament

The Hendrix Park 12U All-Stars placed second in the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association District 2 tournament held June 25 -27 in Baxley. The team will head back to Baxley July 6-8 for the GRPA state tourney.
