Redskins pick up first baseball win

Bryan County High School earned its first win of the early season Thursday with a 3-2 victory over visiting Long County. Skeebo Carter went the distance on the mound for the Redskins and allowed only 5 hits in the winning effort. Bryan County had seven hits on the day with Alex Covington (2 for 2, two 2Bs, 2 runs) and Shane Dillon (2 for 2, RBI) leading the way at the plate.

Lady Redskins beat Calvary Day for 3-A crown

It wasn't even close. Bryan County (25-3) beat Calvary Baptist 70-57 on Friday night at Savannah Country Day to win the Region 3-A title. The Lady Redskins' Olivia Melvin led all scorers with 32 points. Saatashala Beasley added 15 points and Diamond McGirt had 11 for BCHS, which clinched a No. 1 seed in the Class A playoffs. The No. 4-ranked Lady Redskins wono the region's regular season title as well.
