Former Richmond Hill High School football player Zach Broome will be wearing the garnet and black of the University of South Carolina this fall. Broome (85) recently made the Gamecocks football team as a walk-on and apparently is the first RHHS football player to play at an SEC school.
Wildcats edge Benedictine 4-3 in extra innings
Richmond Hill High School beat Benedictine 4-3 in extra innings Saturday. The Wildcat were trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the seventh when David Katzman singled in two runs to tie the game. Matt Klebe's bases-loaded triple in the bottom of the ninth gave RHHS the win. Pitcher Ryan Eisenwein picked up the win for RHHS. He threw 4-1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

By Jeff Whitten Prospective college football players will have a chance to show their stuff Saturday morning in Richmond Hill at a high school player combine hosted by LRS Sports, a recruiting service based out of Florida. The combine will run from 8:30 a.m. until noon at DeVaul Henderson Park.
