Oct. 31: Trunk-or-Treat and "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" - Head to White Bluff United Methodist Church on Halloween night for a showing of "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" and some trunk-or-treating in the parking lot. The church will serve hamburgers and hot dogs for $4 for adults and free for kids. All guests are invited to wear their costumes and gather treats from the trunks of members' cars. Boy Scouts gear up for fundraiser

Boy Scout Troop 527 has been in existence under its current charter for 31 years, and the Scouts have been doing a chicken dinner fundraiser for a large part of that time - according to Scoutmaster Mathew Brown, the fundraiser has been raising money for the troop for at least 20 years.

April 9: Yappy Hour Fundraiser - The Bark Park Association is having its monthly Yappy Hour fundraiser at Fish Tales Restaurant at Fort McAllister Marina from 6-8 p.m. A percentage of all proceeds will be donated to the nonprofit organization behind the Bryan County Bark Park. The event will include socialization of dogs and their owners with beer at $1 a cup. Dogs can drink Bowser beer or fresh water. Entry is free and well-behaved dogs are encouraged to attend.
