Hundreds attend Rotary fundraiser

The Rotary Club of Richmond Hill hosted a beach-themed fundraiser Saturday, complete with beach towels, beach balls and vases filled with sand as decorations. Guests enjoyed dancing, drinks with little umbrella garnishes, food and classic music.

Hundreds of Rotary Club members and their guests went to the Richmond Hill City Center on Saturday for the annual Rotary Club fundraiser. This year's event was a beach theme - tables were decorated with beach towels, sunglasses, vases filled with sand and candles. Guests enjoyed the music, food and auctions.

Feb. 5: 13th annual New Beginning Youth Art Exhibit - As part of the Black Heritage Festival, the city of Savannah Department of Cultural Affairs hosts this annual Links-sponsored exhibit. Local middle and high school students have entered works based on the 2014 theme, "Dare to Dream; Create a Legacy." The opening reception will start at 6:30 p.m., where prizes will be announced. Members of the Bryan County Fire Department were busy Christmas with Santa Runs, Breakfast With Santa, Toys for Tots and more. Santa and BCFD members also went out to the South Bryan Recreation Department on Dec. 18 to meet with kids involved in the SBRC Special Needs Activities Program, also known as SNAP. From all reports, a great time was had by kids, firefighters and Santa himself. The accompany photos were shot by Bryan Browning.

Off Broadway Dance Studio had a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house Friday. The new dance studio features two sprung dance floors. The studio's instructors want to give the dancers the best education, as well as help them develop character traits such as self-worth, self-confidence and team work skills. Community troupe presents dinner theater
