Ogeechee River: Crown Jewel of Coastal Georgia

The Ogeechee River is just the place for peace and relaxation, and local organization Ogeechee Riverkeeper is keeping watch to make sure it remains so.

The Richmond Hill City Center hosted High Tea on the Hill for ladies of the community on Feb. 18 to benefit Pay It Forward Foundation of Bryan County, which is headed by Dana Lewis and helps the less fortunate. The event featured hot tea, soup, quiche, sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, scones and a variety of desserts. Hollie Moore Barnidge brought her camera along to document the event.

Yarn bomb gives library tree pizzazz

A large pine tree in front of the Richmond Hill Public Library currently is wrapped in colorful swathes of knitted fabric - the subject of a recent "yarn-bombing" by the Common Threads knitting group. Leaders of the group said the bombing was meant to bring recognition to Common Threads and to let everyone involved have a little creative fun.
