Nov. 14: Historic Savannah Foundation Candlelight Home Tour - As part of the 2014 National Preservation Conference, the Historic Savannah Foundation presents the 2014 Candlelight Home Tour. The tour of private residences in the Columbia, Warren and Washington Wards will feature the impacts of good infill, rehabilitation and collaborative planning. Nov.6: Richmond Hill Historical Society Lecture - The Richmond Hill Historical Society will kick off the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the siege of Fort McAllister with its November lecture. A historic interpreter will take guests through the details of the final assault of Fort McAllister, "Guardian of Savannah," which allowed General Sherman to resupply his troops and take Savannah in 1864. Guests are invited to the barracks at Fort McAllister at 7 p.m. for a cup of cider and the fireside program. Cost is free for members and $5 for non-members.
