Hundreds attend Rotary fundraiser

The Rotary Club of Richmond Hill hosted a beach-themed fundraiser Saturday, complete with beach towels, beach balls and vases filled with sand as decorations. Guests enjoyed dancing, drinks with little umbrella garnishes, food and classic music.

Hundreds of Rotary Club members and their guests went to the Richmond Hill City Center on Saturday for the annual Rotary Club fundraiser. This year's event was a beach theme - tables were decorated with beach towels, sunglasses, vases filled with sand and candles. Guests enjoyed the music, food and auctions.

Feb. 5: 13th annual New Beginning Youth Art Exhibit - As part of the Black Heritage Festival, the city of Savannah Department of Cultural Affairs hosts this annual Links-sponsored exhibit. Local middle and high school students have entered works based on the 2014 theme, "Dare to Dream; Create a Legacy." The opening reception will start at 6:30 p.m., where prizes will be announced. Families went to The Ice Cream Stop Saturday night to watch Disney's "Frozen" and eat ice cream. Tiffany Stroud went with her camera to capture some of the fun. The Ice Cream Stop has outdoor movies every Friday and Saturday night, weather permitting, for the community to watch.

Richmond Hill High School football fans and band members traveled to Camden County on Saturday for a preseason football scrimmage between the Wildcats and Camden County High School. The regular season starts Sept. 5 for RHHS. Bryan Browning brought his camera along to show the spirit of Wildcat fans and spirit teams.

The boys of fall are at it again. South Bryan County Recreation Department football got under way recently with tryouts, and hundreds of kids showed up to show coaches what they can do.
