Boy Scouts ready to serve

There will be lot more cooking at the 15th annual Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival this weekend than fried shrimp and gumbo. Thanks to the Boy Scout Troop 400 of Richmond Hill, visitors to J.F. Gregory Park this Friday through Sunday will also have the chance to get a taste of something sweet with their seafood.

Oct. 4-6: Oktoberfest on River Street - Downtown Savannah is hosting its 30th annual weekend-long festival on the river celebrating fall, food, beer and fun. Garden club sets 14th Pumpkin Patch

Boy Scouts gear up for fundraiser

Boy Scout Troop 527 has been in existence under its current charter for 31 years, and the Scouts have been doing a chicken dinner fundraiser for a large part of that time - according to Scoutmaster Mathew Brown, the fundraiser has been raising money for the troop for at least 20 years.

April 9: Yappy Hour Fundraiser - The Bark Park Association is having its monthly Yappy Hour fundraiser at Fish Tales Restaurant at Fort McAllister Marina from 6-8 p.m. A percentage of all proceeds will be donated to the nonprofit organization behind the Bryan County Bark Park. The event will include socialization of dogs and their owners with beer at $1 a cup. Dogs can drink Bowser beer or fresh water. Entry is free and well-behaved dogs are encouraged to attend.
