Sasha goes bananas over new movie

Before I begin, I must offer a "Woo hoo!" to "The Help," which I reviewed last week. It has climbed to the top of the box office, thanks to positive word of mouth. But another film, "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," also has been topping the box office for weeks now. I was reluctant to buy my ticket and unsure as to whether I'd enjoy my time in the cage.

'The Help' much more than a chick flick

I have special news this week. I may have just seen the best movie of the year. In Savannah last weekend, several screenings were sold out - more so than "Harry Potter," in fact. Most incredible of all is that the film in question is a drama.

Visuals good in 'Jupiter Ascending;' story isn't

"Jupiter Ascending" is the latest film from the Wachowskis, the dynamic sibling duo who brought us the "Matrix" trilogy and the criminally underrated "Cloud Atlas." "Jupiter Ascending" is not nearly in the same league as those films, but it might be passable enough to become a guilty pleasure in the future. Or not.

Upon reading my column, my sister called me and took me to task. She insisted I was dead wrong about the show, and she asked how much of it I had watched. I told her I was only done with the first couple of seasons.
