SAVANNAH - The Savannah Ronald McDonald House will host the Chef of the House Challenge on Aug. 23-29. It will be an "Iron Chef"-inspired fundraiser with a twist - competitors will bring their own challengers. The event, which benefits the Savannah Ronald McDonald House, will feature amateurs and culinary masters with a passion for cooking, grilling and giving back to the community.
Last weekend at the box office, Will Ferrell's "The Other Guys" and Steve Carrell's "Dinner for Schmucks" duked it out in a comedy battle royale. Though Carrell's latest film opened one weekend ahead of Ferrell's, the head start afforded no benefit.

Fort King George State Historic Site in Darien will have family scavenger hunts starting this Saturday and continuing each Saturday through September. Employees at the fort will draw names and give away gift certificates to three families each weekend.
