Jekyll Island Club turning 125

BRUNSWICK (AP) - It's a photograph Patty Henning has seen many times. Yet every time she glances at the sepia-tone image of men nearly 100 years ago playing croquet on what is now the Jekyll Island Club Hotel lawn, she can't help but be overwhelmed by the striking similarities of then and now.

'Trespass' better in theory than reality

This week's film, "Trespass," centers on a hostage situation. It stars Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman as a wealthy husband and wife who are held at gunpoint in their home over a bunch of diamonds that may or not be in Cage's safe.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Though still largely the domain of men, triumphs by Taylor Swift and The Band Perry at the Country Music Association Awards show that the young women of country music are finding their voices and shoving the boys out of the way.

'In Time' is fun despite plot holes

"In Time," a new science-fiction thriller in theaters now, stars Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried ("Letters to Juliet," "Red Riding Hood") as a mismatched pair living in a future version of our world. Like many sci-fi flicks these days, you have to accept the premise of the movie right away or you'll be completely confused half the time.

'Mao's Last Dancer' has art overcome oppression

This week's film combines the elements of history, dance and a far-off land into one sweeping drama. The picture is called "Mao's Last Dancer," and I found it intriguing, marvelous to watch and very inspirational. Based upon the real-life autobiography of Chinese ballet dancer Li Cunxin, the film depicts one young man's journey from rural communist China to the stage of the Houston Ballet in the United States. I dare you to watch without a box of tissues.

Verdict on 'The Judge' only decent

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, "The Judge" is a fine example of a movie that features a likable cast and it's solidly made throughout, but it ultimately falls short of its loftier ambitions.
