Residents visit governor's home

The 1965 graduating classes of Warner Robins High School and Northside High School of Warner Robins held a joint reunion this past Saturday. A barbecue was held on the grounds of the Governor's Mansion on West Paces Ferry Road in Atlanta and was hosted by Gov. Sonny Perdue, who is a 1965 graduate of Warner Robins High School.

Dorchester Academy gets $50,000 grant

Dorchester Academy was one of 10 historic schools from 250 applicants across the country and the only one in Georgia to receive a $50,000 preservation grant from Lowe's this week. Lowe's Companies, Inc. and the National Trust for Historic Preservation awarded nearly $500,000 in grants from Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation to historic schools across America.

Grief counselor reaches out to residents

Betsy Kammerud joined Hospice Savannah's Full Circle Center for Grief and Loss last year. Now, she said, she is delighted to bring her skills as a bereavement counselor to Liberty County.
