Scouts help with fundraiser at races

Members of Boy Scout Troop 357 of Pembroke were at Screven Motor Speedway recently. They were there to assist the Lions Club with a fundraiser for the Camp for the Blind as a community service project. The boys got an opportunity to visit the pits and watch the races, according to Scoutmaster Dave Williams.

Fouth at Magnolia Manor

Residents of Magnolia Manor showed their true colors recently during their first annual Red, White & Blue Spirit Competition. Each floor of residents represented one of the three colors (first floor represented red, second floor represented white and third floor represented blue). Throughout the day, each team participated in a series of events ranging from the watermelon seed spitting contest, to karaoke. With such enthusiasm from each team, staff awarded a three way tie to the residents.
