Club taps April Junior Rotarian

Tatjuana Danielle Phillips was recently named Junior Rotarian of the Month for April by the Rotary Club of Richmond Hill. Phillips carries a GPA of 3.77 and plans to attend Savannah College of Art and Design in the fall. She participates in track and field, as well as vocal arts, and is also active in her community through mission and youth work at Savannah Christian Church.

WACH changes emergency room access

Currently, the Winn Army Community Hospital Emergency Department is accessible only from the entrance off 9th Street. New emergency signs have been posted to reflect the new entrance. The Niles Avenue entrance is closed to begin construction on the two-story, 43,637-square-foot emergency department, which is expected to be completed by fall 2014. It will built on the existing emergency-room parking lot.

Chief appraise retires after 13 years

Former county chief tax appraiser Dan Rollf was recently honored with a reception celebrating his retirement and his 13 years of service to Bryan County. Rollf was the chief appraiser during much of the growth time leading up to and through the housing recession. It was his job to properly assess properties and to make sure the county had a stable digest through these changing times.
