December's yard of the month

Stephanie Willis and her daughter, Lauren, stand in the yard of their Brigham Drive home in the Brigham Lakes subdivision that was recently named Yard of the Month for December by the Richmond Hill Garden Club. Stephanie Willis and her husband, Blaise, keep their home landscaped with scalloped-trimmed Indian hawthorns, a blooming sasanqua, liriope, loropetalum, agapanthus and a sago palm. The couple received a certificate from the garden club as well as a gift certificate from Tim and Dave's Nursery.

Operation Homefront helps military families

The Liberty County community showed its appreciation for the sacrifices made by military members and their families Wednesday through a holiday-meal distribution hosted by Operation Homefront Southeast.
