Cub scouts lift off imaginations

Den 5 of Pack 400 Cub Scouts had a class on shooting rockets on March 27 at J F Gregory Park. More than 20 scouts participated. Den leader Blanca Lozada held a class on safety instructions. Parents prepared the rockets for lift off. James Brown, the pack's activities director, provided several launching pads as well as some very unique rockets he had built. Despite nearly 50 launches, all but five rockets were retrieved. The event was followed by snacks provided by Tammy Song and an egg race back in the park.
