Garden club tours GSU Botanical Garden

For their March meeting, the Pembroke Garden Club members enjoyed a trip to the Georgia Southern University Botanical Garden in Statesboro, also known as Garden of the Coastal Plain. The ladies enjoyed a tour of the garden led by guide Kathy Tucker, viewed the many variety of plants on the well-kept rounds, and the small one room schoolhouse on the premises; then enjoyed lunch at a local restaurant.

Third Infantry Division soldiers and their families braved the rain Sunday to crowd into the Newman Fitness Center gymnasium for a free concert by Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band. The event was moved indoors due to rain and was delayed an hour, but that didn't keep attendees from waiting for and enjoying the show.
