Wildcats down Mustangs for share of first place

Richmond Hill entered its game with South Effingham on Friday with two objectives in mind. Number one - win the game. Number two - save enough pitching for the grueling four game week to come. Head coach Mitchell Curry, thanks to a well executed pitching plan and ten timely hits, can mark those objectives off. Mission accomplished: Richmond Hill 5, South Effingham 4.

Both the Richmond Hill High School boys and girls soccer teams nabbed victories over the weekend, and, coincidentally, this earns them both third seeds from Region 3AAA for the forthcoming state playoff tournament.

Big inning Wildcats get big win

Sole possession of second place sounds pretty good to Richmond Hill's baseball team right now. Their 8-2 win over Burke County in Waynesboro on Friday earned them that distinction. It was a familiar theme for the Wildcats against the Bears: pitch well and strike with a big inning.

Calvary edges Bryan County and Richmond Hill

RHHS, BCHS and Calvary had a three-way golf competition at Black Creek Tuesday. Calvary came in first with BCHS second and RHHS third.

Cross county rivals BCHS and RHHS squared off in a track meet on Wednesday which also included teams from Claxton and Effingham. The BCHS girls finished in second to Claxton, while the boys came in first place. Richmond Hill boys and girls teams both came in third place

The Richmond Hill boys and girls soccer again dominated the field on Tuesday, this time against Wayne County. The RHHS teams are on bold winning streaks which hopefully will carry over into the upcoming regional tournament.
