Bryan County loses wild one

The Bryan County Redskins Football team set out to Long County for their non-region matchup against the newly rebuilt Long County Blue Tide. And with Long County's struggles last year, the Redskins were unaware of the battle they would soon face.

Second time around starts now for BCHS Lady Redskins

The BCHS Ladyskins went back to work this week as they welcomed the Portal High School Panthers to Redskin field for their first meeting this season. With a day off in their regular schedule, the Redskins hit the practice field to fine tune their game for the second half of the season. Coach Kim Covington had this to say about her team's performance so far.

RHATA wraps up team tennis league

The Richmond Hill Area Tennis Association's (RHATA) newest program in 2007, 2-ON-2 team tennis league, recently completed. Eight junior teams, sixteen tennis players in all, participated in this league during the summer.

RHHS softball rained out

The Lady Wildcat softball team were slated to participate in an invitational tournament in Brunswick this weekend. The event was rained out after only one game. Unfortunately, that one game was against a tough Atlanta based team and ended with a 7-0 loss. The Cats were confident they would gain a victory in their next scheduled tournament game versus Effingham, but did not get that chance. The Cats are currently 5-2 for region play. Next up is a Thursday away game versus South Effingham.

After Richmond Hill's Zach Alltop nailed a 20 yard field goal in the first period to give his team an early 3-0 lead over their cross county rival Bryan County, the lament from the coaches patrolling the Wildcat sideline the rest of the game was – "that's not going to be enough."

The Wildcat varsity unofficially ran for nearly 200 yards of offense in three quarters - all of this with their number one running back, Darius Postell, on the sidelines.
