A school and home connection

The Bryan County School District offers a web-based home-to-school collaboration tool entitled ParentCONNECTxp. This program allows parents/guardians a way to keep track of your child's academic progress-online. If registered, parents can visit the password-protected site to view a range of useful information including up-to-date information on your child's grades, attendance/tardiness, homework assignments, discipline, and course assignments.

Teacher bringing Holocaust survivors to RHHS

On Tuesday, March 4 RHHS will have the honor of having Holocaust survivors Chaim Mealmed and Vera Hoffman speak for a select group of less than 90 10th graders. Mr. Mealmed, who lived in Jewish ghettos for three years and several concentration camps for one and a half years, and Mrs. Hoffman, who spent a year and a half in mixed concentration camps as well, will speak to students about what it was like to live through the terrors of the Holocaust and the turbulent era of World War II as a whole. Armstrong dropping 'Atlantic' from name

The University System of Georgia's Board of Regents voted Tuesday to allow Armstrong Atlantic State University to shorten its name to Armstrong State University. The name modification will take affect at the beginning of the new fiscal year, which starts July 1. Armstrong is building a new 21,000-square-foot Armstrong Liberty Center on Memorial Drive in Hinesville. The new campus is scheduled to open in summer 2015.
