The Exchange Club of Richmond Hill honored students of the month for March and April at the group's April 28 meeting.
Dr. George Washington Carver Elementary School recently sponsored McTeacher Night at the Richmond Hill McDonald's near Publix. The school will receive approximately $1,100 as a result.
The Bryan County Community Education Office offered a new voice class this school year for students in grades second and higher. These students presented their end-of-year voice recital on Monday, April 26, in the multi-purpose room at Richmond Hill Primary School.
Friday, Bryan County Elementary School honored the school's volunteers with an appreication luncheon. The volunteers were treated to sandwiches, fruit and potato salad, along with cookies and a drink. All we given a nice thank you gift for their time. "We really appreciate the time and dedication that all volunteers give to our school," said Diane Padgett.

SAVANNAH -- Armstrong Atlantic State University will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its much anticipated, 60,180 square-foot Student Union at 11:50 a.m. on Friday, April 23. Richmond Hill High School students held their annual "Mock Wreck," an event where students replicate the horror of a teen driving accident, on Thursday at the school. The wreck was organized by the school's SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) chapter, with assistance from the local police, fire and EMS departments.

On March 20, 28 Bryan County 4-H'ers traveled to Bacon County to compete in 2010 District Project Achievement. Parents, teen-leaders, volunteers, along with the 4-H staff convoyed to the day-long competition. After weeks of researching topics, preparing speeches and posters, and practicing their demonstrations, this group returned to Bryan County with seven first place ribbons, seven second place ribbons and two third place ribbons.
