Scholarships Two Richmond Hill residents were among 13 students who were selected to receive Savannah Technical College Faculty & Staff Scholarship for the 2007-08 academic year. A look at Bryan County SATs
Of the 379 Bryan County regular high school 2007 graduates, 265 or 70% took the SAT. Based upon the most recent scores, the averages for Bryan County graduates were 499 (critical reading), 508 (mathematics), and 482 (writing) for a total mean score of 1489. The national average was 1511 - 502 (reading), 515 (mathematics), and 494 (writing). Georgia's average scores were 494 (critical reading), 495 (mathematics), and 483 (writing).
Stanberry tabbed for youth security forum
Richmond Hill High School senior Jamie Stanberry will attend the National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security in Washington, D.C. from Oct. 2-7. Stanberry was recommended to the forum because of his interest in national security as well as maintaining a B average.

Learn more about military academies
U.S. Senators Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) and Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) and U.S. Representative John Barrow (D-Ga.) announced they will host a statewide Military Academy Day event in coordination with the Georgia delegation on Saturday, Sept. 29 at Benedictine Military School in Savannah, Ga. The event will be held in the school's cafeteria from 10-11:30 a.m. to familiarize students with the application and nomination process for applying to the nation's five service academies. AASU president's list Several students from Bryan County were named to Armstrong Atlantic State University's president's list for the 2006-2007 term. Savannah Tech offering certificate program
Savannah Technical College will offer a new certificate program that aims to solidify credentials and prepare those who work with the developmentally disabled gain access to resources and services that will assist them in their daily lives. The Direct Support Professional program was begun as a collaborative effort between the technical colleges and the Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities.
