Adams named top teacher at BCMS

Bryan County Middle School has named Melissa Adams as their Teacher of the Year! Melissa has been teaching at Bryan County Middle School for six years and currently teaches 7th grade Life Science. Pena named top teacher at Richmond Hill High School

Richmond Hill High School special education teacher Kema Pena was recently named RHHS Teacher of the Year. Pena has been teaching for 13 years and has been at RHHS for two years now. "She is one of the most committed teachers I've ever seen as far as taking care of special needs kids," RHHS Principal Charles Spann said. "She's here early and stays late. Richmond Hill Primary School honored its' Teacher of the Year and Assistant of the Year during a ceremony in the media center on Feb. 17. The winners were decided by their peers. Bacon named NO. 1 at BCHS

Bryan County High's Haley Bacon was named Teacher of the Year Wednesday during a meeting of the BCHS faculty. Haley is a 2000 graduate of Bryan County High School and is in her fourth year of teaching. She was chosen after several rounds of voting by the faculty. Principal Harold Roach called Haley an outstanding young teacher and said BCHS is extremely fortunate to have her. Brown, Kennedy named Lanier’s best

Lanier Primary recently announced Ferra Brown (right) and Dawn Kennedy as Teacher of the Year and Paraprofessional of the year. Brown, a 10-year LPS first grade teacher, said, "It's wonderful. I enjoy the children. They learn so much." Principal Patti Newman said Brown "is a wonderful teacher who has a gift for reaching every child in her classroom. She was born to be a teacher." Walker named Carver's top teacher

Fourth grade teacher Pam Walker was named George Washington Carver's Teacher of the Year by Principal Crystal Morales in a recent reception held at the school's media center. Morales said the vote was close and spoke of the dedication of all the teachers. "Everything you do makes a difference to the children," she said.
