Armstrong to open new alumni center

What: Armstrong Alumni Center Grand Opening. Armstrong Atlantic State University will host a grand opening reception and ribbon cutting to celebrate the new Alumni Center in historic Burnett Hall. As one of Armstrong's eight original buildings on the university's Southside campus, Burnett Hall serves as a strategic venue for the Alumni Center. The Alumni Center will also house the Alumni Affairs Office, which is dedicated to preserving Armstrong's past, while building on the future.

Czech Republic student presents to Rotary Club

Iva Salomounova from the Czech Republic made a presentation to the Rotary Club of Richmond Hill at a recent weekly meeting. Salomounova reflected on her experiences in America as she prepared to return to Europe after spending a year at Atlantic Armstrong State University and staying with her host family from the Rotary Club. Salomounova has benefitted from the Georgia Rotary Student Program scholarship, to which the Rotary Club of Richmond Hill contributes around $5,000 every year.

BCES campaign benefits United Way

The Bryan County Elementary School Student Council participated in the 2014 United Way Campaign to help raise funds for those in need. These students collected over 900 food items for the Thanksgiving food drive to help the United Way provide Thanksgiving dinners in our community. Student Council representatives also placed recycled milk jugs in all classrooms to encourage everyone to donate their change, as well as having a community lemonade stand managed by Helen Gaddis, Stacy Callahan and Taylor Flemming. These efforts resulted in $586.41 being raised for the United Way and helped the school to surpass its goal ...
