Carver students prepare for science Olympiad

G.W. Carver Elementary School students in Annmarie Crawford's fifth-grade class work on science projects and experiments they will conduct on March 7 in the Science Olympiad tournament in Waycross. The students will compete in a variety of activities, like building straw towers, straw rockets and bridges, an egg drop and much more.

Coastal EMC group rewards teachers

Coastal Electric Cooperative and its foundation awarded 16 grants totaling over $22,000 last week to teachers in Bryan, Liberty and McIntosh counties. The winning teachers were caught by surprise when Bright Ideas Prize Patrol members came to their classrooms to present them with giant balloon bouquets, gifts and checks.
