Red Cross encourages everyone to give blood

As the end-of-year holiday season quickly approaches, many people prepare for vacations and spending time with loved ones. While the holidays are accompanied by joyous feasts and get-togethers, many people forget that patients in hospitals still need their help. The American Red Cross encourages everyone who can to give a gift that will make someone truly thankful. A blood or platelet donation will help someone spend time with family and friends this holiday season.

Jordan gets CMD in long term care

Stephen M. Jordan, M.D., has been designated a Certified Medical Director in Long Term Care by the American Medical Directors Certification Program (AMDCP). Dr. Jordan, who specializes in internal medicine and is board certified in his field, is one of only 2,200 U.S. physicians and 63 in Georgia to have earned this certification. He has been in private practice since 1975 and serves patients in Bryan and surrounding counties.

Nesbitt (right) assumed leadership of the 13,000 members of the Georgia Army and Air National Guard, and Georgia State Defense Force during the ceremony at Fort McPherson. He takes the reins of command from Lt. General David B. Poythress (left) who has been Georgia's Adjutant General since 1999. Poythress is retiring following a 44 year military career.

Prayer breakfast- The September Birth Month Committee members of Bryan Neck Missionary Baptist Church, Richmond Hill, will host their second "Prayer Breakfast Fundraiser" beginning at 9 a.m. today at the church. Everyone is welcome and asked to attend and show support by purchasing a breakfast plate for $8 and hear Evangelist and Christ Memorial Baptist Church First Lady Gwendolyn Broxton speak on the power of prayers.
