Libraries closed The Bryan County libraries at Pembroke and Richmond Hill will be closed Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. They will reopen at 10 a.m. Jan. 22. County workshop The Bryan County Board of Commissioners will hold a workshop at 8 a.m. Jan. 26 at Fire Station 7, 5995 Highway 204 in Ellabell. The speaker this month will be Jane Fishman, author and gardener. Her topic will be "The Garden in January." The public is always invited to join the meeting.

Santa run: The Bryan County Fire Department South Division will be escorting Santa through neighborhoods in Richmond Hill and South Bryan from about 6-8:30 p.m. in the coming days. Signs will be posted on subdivision entrances the day Santa is due to visit. Schedules will be posted on the South Bryan Volunteer Facebook page.

A fundraiser to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society called "Dine Out to Knockout Cancer" will be held Tuesday in Richmond Hill. The event is hosted by Lifesavers, Team Dylan and Team Evan, who are joining forces with several local restaurants to find a cure for cancer.
