Richmond Hill's Relay for Life this weekend
Richmond Hill is gearing up for its Relay for Life this weekend, and event chairperson Christy Crowley said she expects it to be very successful.

Mallory McGee might have a pretty good future in government. The Georgia Municipal Association chose RHMS sixth grader Mallory McGee's submission to the "If I Were Mayor, I Would…" essay contest as the District 12 winner, beating out 272 other district entries. If Mallory were indeed the mayor of Richmond Hill, she states in her essay she would "improve recycling by making ordinances to stop people from littering…add more sidewalks…hire more police agents and fire fighters ...
Group provides help to those in need
Helping Hands, a non-profit Bryan County organization, lent a hand April 21 to assist an elderly Richmond Hill couple in fixing up their home.

Annual Miss BCHS pageant is a beauty
Lanier Primary School was the site of the annual Miss BCHS Beauty Pageant Saturday night. Age divisions ranged from Tiny Miss to Miss BCHS and all age groups were represented by beautiful young ladies that competed in both the formal and casual wear categories.

Reaffirming what several have said before him, AASU Director for the Center for Regional Analysis Michael Toma exclaimed at Magnolia Manor that Bryan County has a strong economic future and should anticipate an "explosive growth in population."

Feeling artsy? On Saturday, Arts on the Coast is sponsoring their second annual art show at the Wetlands Center at J.F. Gregory Park and everyone is invited to attend. "This show will showcase our visual artists," said Sarah Volker, visual arts chairperson for the group. "We'll have anything from marble and bronze sculptures, photography, oil and water color paintings, collage work and charcoal graphics. There'll be a little bit of everything." ...

County wants DA water system back
Roughly five years ago, the Bryan County Commission deeded a water and sewer system at the industrial park on I-16 to the Bryan County Development Authority.
