Dear editor: Another election cycle is finally over and the voters of Bryan County have spoken. We will have three new county commissioners in January 2011.
Dear editor: My family and I wish to sincerely thank the people of Bryan County District 4 for their votes of confidence in electing me as your county commissioner. I ran an honest, clean race and worked hard. I will continue to do the same as your county commissioner.
Dear editor: It was never my intention to cause and harm, embarrassment or to bring about any undue discredit or embarrassment to any party by submitting my Letter to the Editor. I merely wanted to bring light to some problems I and other business owners had voiced in working with the Bryan County Board of Commissioners.
Editor's note: The following are from students in Lynn Keen's fourth-grade class at First Christian Academy in Richmond Hill. The letters, which were part of a lesson in letter-writing, are in reference to the large flag that flies over Hwy. 17 near the aqueduct courtesy of Tidal Construction Co. The students noticed in late October that the flag was torn and promptly repaired.
Dear editor: In the state of Georgia, there are several thousand citizens living in Georgia's seven hospitals serving people with developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs. Many of these patients have lived in these hospitals most of their lives and have little, if any, contact with support from friends or family.
Dear editor: The Richmond Hill Classic Vehicle Club known as the Over the Hill Gang recently made a $500 donation to the Richmond Hill Historical Society. The is to help with costs incurred in moving the Bailey Carpenter one-room barber shop to the museum grounds.
Dear editor: Your paper allowed a letter from a Dennis Todd titled "Who's in charge in Bryan County?"
Dear editor: Let me begin by saying how disappointed I am in the editorial staff of the Bryan County News in allowing such libelous and slanderous accusations to be printed under the guise of a "letter to the editor" in the weekend edition of the paper.
Dear editor: I recently read an article about an award winning catch of a tiger shark during the course of a month-long shark fishing contest in Destin, Fla. The picture taken alongside the bloody carcass of what was once a magnificent animal included a couple of children and the local beauty queen.
Dear editor: Why are we "testing" recycling? What would make it fail a test? Lack of participation? Heck with that. It's the right thing to do, just do it. And it's not hard. What's hard is having five bins in the garage, separating everything and having to haul the bins to the landfill or into some store in Savannah when they're full. I don't take the bins in each week, but I figure it takes ...
Dear Editor: I just want to say "thank you" to all the citizens in the Fourth District that voted for me and for the outpouring of support you have given me over the last eight months I've been campaigning.
Dear editor: The Richmond Hill Convention and Visitors Bureau (RHCVB) would like to take this opportunity to express its support for the Richmond Hill City Center. Recently, much has been discussed about the financial impact of the City Center on our community. We understand these concerns and agree that the City Center must continue to work on its financial efficiency. As tourism professionals, we also understand and would like to communicate to the community, that ...
Dear editor: I read with interest the letter of Mr. Bill Helms in Wednesday's edition regarding the American Legion. I'd like to clarify the issue.
Dear editor: In a letter I wrote published Wednesday, Nov. 10, concerning Richmond Hill's failure to contact American Legion Post 27 to participate in the Veterans Day ceremonies, it seems like Richmond Hill did try to contact me. A message was supposedly left on my answering machine, but I never received it. It seems like this electronic world has glitches. I wish to apologize to Mr. Steve Scholar and the city of Richmond Hill. Steve ...
Editor, On Thursday, our great nation honored all of our veterans with parades and ceremonies around the country. I hope everyone thanked them for their service to our country.
