JEKYLL ISLAND - The Jekyll Island Authority announced recently that three companies have been selected to join the Jekyll Island beach village project. They will build two new hotels and new retail space for the island. Following a request for proposal process, the board of directors approved the recommendations made by the Jekyll Island Authority evaluation committee, and project development agreements will be finalized with each company.
ATLANTA - State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said the Georgia Department of Labor will begin a series of workshops this week to help thousands of laid-off Georgia education employees transition into new careers.
