Hinesville Pharmacy, formerly Whitman Pharmacy, has opened its new location at 481 E.G. Miles Parkway. The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce had a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony March 2 with 60 chamber members in attendance. The new pharmacy is directly across from Liberty Regional Medical Center. The newly namd Hinesville Pharmacy will maintain the same ownership and staff.
ATLANTA (AP) - The Georgia Department of Labor says the state's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to a record 10.5 percent in February. The rate is up one-tenth of a percentage point from the 10.4 percent reported in January. The February jobless rate was up 1.8 percentage points from 8.7 percent at this same time last year.

BRUNSWICK - Georgia Ports Authority officials say fire damage to a railroad trestle connecting to a shipping terminal in Glynn County is not as extensive as had been feared. The trestle to the Colonels Island facility caught fire Monday. Authority spokesman Robert Morris says two rail cars carrying new Alabama-built Mercedes-Benz automobiles to the terminal burned, destroying all 16 autos.
ATLANTA - Georgia Power customers will see their bills go up again. The Georgia Public Service Commission voted 4-1 on Thursday to let the utility raise prices starting April 1. The average residential customer will pay $9.91 more a month from June through September and $3.44 the other eight months of the year.
