Pembroke man facing charges after high-speed chase

A Pembroke man is facing numerous charges from county and state agencies after the Feb. 17 high-speed chase from Evans to Bryan County that ended in Pembroke with a wreck that sent another driver to the hospital.

A North Carolina man working at the Travel Lodge motel was stunned with a Taser on Wednesday by Richmond Hill Police after an incident at the Hwy. 17 motel. He was later arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing a law enforcement officer.

Foul played ruled out in soldier's drowning

The body of Cpl. Catlin May, a 3rd ID soldier assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, was recovered Saturday evening by installation emergency services from recreational Pond 28 on Fort Stewart.

Shots in neighborhood draw complaints, advice

Dec. 6: A deputy was dispatched to a Homestead Drive address in Ellabell regarding "a neighbor shooting." The complainant said his neighbor had been shooting a shotgun and was disturbing others.
