With the Christmas holiday season just around the corner folks should be especially aware of thieves lurking nearby, looking for an unsuspecting target. Local law enforcement agencies caution residents to secure their cars and homes and take notice of suspicious individuals now and all year-round.

Law watching roads over holiday

Between Wednesday and Sunday, Georgia State Troopers will be watching for "impaired drivers, occupant protection violations, and speed violations," on Georgia's roads, according to Col. Bill Hitchens, the Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Public Safety.

High-speed chase ends in wreck at 17, 144

A high-speed chase Saturday night ended in an accident at the intersection of highways 144 and 17 in Richmond Hill. Although no one was seriously injured, the wreck did tie up traffic for a few hours.

Diver reported missing; found off Liberty
