An Ellabell man was arrested Oct. 30 after he attempted to rob a general store and led Bryan County Sheriff's deputies on a high-speed chase through residential Ellabell.

An unknown person cut a hole in the rear wall of Country Market in Ellabell early Friday morning, broke in and stole rolled coins, according to the Bryan County Sheriff's Department.

The Heritage Bank on Butler Avenue in Midway was robbed around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, according to Special Agent Stephen Emmett with the Atlanta Division of the FBI. The FBI is handling the investigation.
A fire extinguisher demonstration, visit from Ronald McDonald, helicopter landings, games for kids and refreshments will all be part of Public Safety Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday in the parking lot of Publix on Hwy. 144 south of Richmond Hill.
