Suspect shot dead during stop near Midway

A suspect was apparently killed by a bullet fired by authorities Monday afternoon shortly after 4 p.m. The man was later identified as William Gordon by Special Agent Micah Ward of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations who has taken over the case.

Car chase ends in crash, DUI charge

A car chase on Hwy. 204 in Ellabell last week concluded with an overturned vehicle, DUI charges and both the driver and passenger being hospitalized, according to a report on file with the Bryan County Sheriff's Department.

Arrest for threats over stolen drug money

March 10 – An Ellabell man was working on his friend's truck in front of his friend's house on Harvey Town Road in Pembroke when two men walked up to him and his friend. The man told deputies that one of the men "pulled a handgun out stating he was going to kill everyone." The man told Deputy Robert Crapse that he and his friend ran into the house and the alleged gunman and his partner drove off.

Wreck on 144 sends woman to hospital

A two vehicle accident in front of the gas station at the corner of Hwy. 144 and Belfast Keller Road resulted in one driver being airlifted to Memorial Hospital. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
