Dogs found alone in home, owner charged
County law enforcement and animal control officials on May 11 rescued more than a dozen dogs and puppies that had been living alone in a Wellington Oaks subdivision home in Richmond Hill. Fred Scott has since been charged with three counts of animal cruelty after 14 dogs and puppies were removed from his abandoned 179 Lindsay Drive home. The following is from Richmond Hill Police Department reports: DUI May 5 – Officer Donnie Crosby clocked a vehicle on Hwy. 17 near Plantation Road traveling 59 mph in a 45 mph zone. The officer pulled the vehicle over and the driver, a Richmond Hill woman, who allegedly appeared very intoxicated due to her bloodshot, glassy eyes and slurred speech. String of car break-ins prompt warning
City police are reminding Richmond Hill residents to lock their car doors – even when at home – following a string of car break-ins last week in the Sterling Creek Plantation subdivision. Items were taken from vehicles while parked in driveways on Ashley Court, Reese Drive or Rice Gate Drive during the evening hours Friday. In each case, the vehicles were unlocked. Midway bank robbed
The Heritage Bank in Midway was robbed during the lunch hour Friday. Midway Police Chief Kelli Morningstar only could confirm the bank was robbed at 12:39 p.m. before deferring all questions to the Liberty County Sheriff's Office.
