Bryan County Elementary School is back in session after being evacuated for about 35 minutes due to a possible explosive found nearby.
The Heritage Bank on Butler Avenue in Midway was robbed around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, according to Special Agent Stephen Emmett with the Atlanta Division of the FBI. The FBI is handling the investigation.
A fire extinguisher demonstration, visit from Ronald McDonald, helicopter landings, games for kids and refreshments will all be part of Public Safety Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday in the parking lot of Publix on Hwy. 144 south of Richmond Hill.

Potentially hazardous costumes or accessories, tainted candy and crossing the street at night without supervision are only a few concerns that should be addressed prior to a child leaving the house.

SAVANNAH - Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are investigating an accident that shut down Highway 17 northbound at Highway 204 for more than two hours Thursday morning and injured a Midway man.

The U.S. Marshal's office in Savannah joined in the search Friday for a Bryan County man police describe as "armed and dangerous" after he allegedly attacked a Pembroke resident with a butcher's knife and later stole a car from an Ellabell woman.
Pembroke Police are asking for help finding a 26-year-old man, who they consider armed and dangerous, in connection with a stabbing during an argument over a basketball game.
JACKSONVILLE - Bryan County Emergency Services was one of eight volunteer fire departments across Florida and Georgia to receive money from Rayonier Inc.
