The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD), DNR Wildlife Division and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency have responded to a fish kill occurring on an approximate 35- to 40-mile segment of the Ogeechee River in Screven and Bulloch counties with possible effects in Bryan, Chatham and Effingham counties.

St. Elizabeth's collecting items for tornado victims

St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Richmond Hill is collecting items to deliver to the victims of the recent tornado outbreaks in Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. Items needed include tarps, charcoal, baby supplies, blankets, flashlights, non-perishable foods, personal products and anything else that can be distributed to help those who have lost everything. Probation office reportedly under GBI scrutiny

A Savannah television station has reported Bryan County's probation office is under investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. WSAV3 reports Sheriff Clyde Smith as saying the investigation concerns a former employee and missing money.

Update: Arrests, but no shooting charges yet

Two Savannah men have been arrested in connection with the Aug. 20 shooting of a Suites at Station Exchange employee in Richmond Hill, but neither has been charged with the actual shooting, Richmond Hill Police Chief Billy Reynolds said Tuesday.
