No formal decisions have been made about public safety with regard to Tropical Storm Hanna, though Bryan County EMA Director Jim Anderson said a decision on whether or not an evacuation will be necessary will be made Wednesday once officials have a better handle on what the storm is doing.

Star Spangled Pembroke

Boy Scouts from Troop 357, parents, grandparents and other volunteers -- including some from the local American Legion Ladies Auxiilary -- gathered Saturday by the caboose in downtown Pembroke on Saturday to put up 75 flags in honor of both the holiday and local war veterans.
