Diamond Dolls wrap up stellar season

The Hendrix Park 10U Fastpitch Softball Diamond Dolls having won their district championship after travelling to Madison, Ga., to compete for the prestigious State Championship in the Region 3A Class C tournament held in mid July.

Ashley Barfield wins Athlete of the Year

Lady Redskin pitcher Ashley Barfield beat out all her peers throughout the Coastal Empire to take home Hinesville Umpires Association's softball "Athlete of the Year" award during the group's annual banquet on Dec. 13 at Holton's Seafood in Midway.

Lady Redskins bow out in Elite 8

The Bryan County Ladyskins made the long trek to Columbus last week to play in the Elite Eight Tournament held at the South Commons Recreation Department. The Ladyskins joined three other Class A softball teams from south Georgia - Savannah Country Day, Taylor County and Treutlen County - and four Class A teams from north Georgia - Gordon Lee, Jefferson, Eagles Landing Christian Acadamy and Georgia Military.

BCHS earns date in the Elite Eight

Lady Redskins are headed back to state

The BCHS Ladyskins are headed to state sectionals after a strong showing at the Region 3A regional tournament, held this past Tuesday and Wednesday at Hendrix Park Rereation Department. Seven regional teams played in the two-day tournament.

Redskin Field was a place of celebration Tuesday as the Ladyskin seniors were honored in their last home game. Meghan Shuman, Lindsay Seger, Tara Miles, Brittany Friedberg and Ashley Barfield were the senior softball players honored.

Bryan County downs Jenkins County

It was back on the road Tuesday for the BCHS Lady Redskins as they traveled to Millen to play the Jenkins County Eagles. Their first meeting against each other this season left the Lady Skins down by one run and gave them their first loss of the year with a game ending score of 4-3. The Lady Eagles controlled much of that game taking an early single run lead that held throughout the game.

Second time around starts now for BCHS Lady Redskins

The BCHS Ladyskins went back to work this week as they welcomed the Portal High School Panthers to Redskin field for their first meeting this season. With a day off in their regular schedule, the Redskins hit the practice field to fine tune their game for the second half of the season. Coach Kim Covington had this to say about her team's performance so far.
