Democrats and defeatism

General Petraeus, the leader in our war in Iraq, recently gave his report to Congress on the progress being made over there, coincidentally the same week as we remember the 6th anniversary of 9-11. Before the man even had a chance to speak, Democrats had branded him a liar and a puppet, despite the fact that General Petraeus is a man of honor and an independent military officer, not a politician. RHMS Lady Cats roll past Effingham

The Richmond Hill Middle School Lady Cats softball squad upped their record to 2-0 Tuesday with a 16-3 win over perennial powerhouse Effingham County.

Fall means football and more at rec level

The fall sports season is gearing up to kick off on both ends of the county. Children of all ages are about to fill both recreation fields for football, cheerleading and soccer. In addition, Richmond Hill will have baseball, softball, soccer and tennis.

Season ends for Lady Redskins

The Lady Redskins traveled to Savannah Country Day School last Wednesday. Unfortunately, their season ended in a loss to the Lady Hornets 45-8. Missed shots proved to be the undoing of the Lady Skins.

Redskins wrap up season

The BCHS Redskins traveled to the Region 3A tournament in Savannah last Wednesday evening. The seeding dictated that the Redskins play number 2 ranked Emanuel County.

Building for next year

It has been a rough but amazing season for the Bryan County Redskins, finishing their schedule with 5 wins and 19 losses. Last Tuesday night, the Redskins found a victory against Pierce County 44-34, but lost an exciting game to Claxton 40-37 Friday night. Saturday night's game saw another loss 52-41 against Metter.

Lady Redskins end regular season

With games last Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday nights the Bryan County Lady Redskins end their regular season with 3 wins and 21 losses. The Pierce County Lady Bears trampled the Lady 'Skins 43-36 on Tuesday night, while the Claxton Lady Tigers pounced on the BCHS girls 50-46 Friday. Saturday night, the last game of the regular season, the Lady Redskins came close, but couldn't pull out the win against Metter 45-43.
