Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Crapse family

Friday proved to be a very sad day for Bryan County. We woke up that morning to learn the seemingly unthinkable had happened - an on-duty sheriff's deputy was killed in a head-on collision on the interstate. Sgt. Robert "Bobby" Crapse wasn't pulling anyone over for speeding, he wasn't engaged in a high-speed chase. He was simply doing what we all do everyday - driving down the street.

Public library is one big page-turner of summer fun

School is out and the blanket of heat and humidity is settling in for the next few months. Though the season won't officially start for two more weeks, it is safe to say that summer is upon us. For kids, that could mean endless days of leisure by the pool side or maybe a few weeks away at camp or even an extended road trip with the grandparents. Whatever the plans are, they've got to be fun.

Dr. Bill Trout jailed for contempt

Richmond Hill dentist and Station Xchange developer Bill Trout remained in jail Friday after being arrested at the Bryan County Courthouse Wednesday on a contempt of court charge reportedly stemming from his 2008 divorce.
