David Minning is president of the Richmond Hill Recreation Association:

1. What do you feel is your greatest achievement?
Outside of my family life, I would say the completion of my MBA while working full time with a young family.

2. What, to you, is perfect happiness?
Striking an even balance in my spiritual, personal and professional life.

3. What one material possession would you save from your home in the event of a fire (assuming your family was safe)?
Probably my computer, which contains pictures and old photos.

4. What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
If you can’t find happiness and contentment in your current situation, additional financial and material possessions are just going to magnify your problems.

5. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would have liked to have gone away to college right after high school. These are experiences that can’t be replaced.

6. What is your greatest fear?
Being stuck in a situation that I felt was hopeless. I always want to feel that a better day is right around the corner.

7. What real or fictional person do you most identify with?
I’ve never really thought about that and I can’t seem to come up with a good example; we’re all our own person.

8. What is your greatest extravagance?
Flying airplanes.

9. If money weren’t an object, how would you spend your time?
Volunteering and helping others.

10. What is your favorite thing about yourself?
I feel I am driven to make a difference in the areas that interest me. I don’t like to back away from a challenge.

11. What trait do you most admire in another person?
Good listener and even-tempered.

12. What trait do you most deplore in another person?
Negativity.

13. Who are your favorite musicians?
Bands where you actually know the names of the other members of the band besides the singer: real drummers playing real drums, real guitar players playing real guitars, etc.

14. What are your favorite books?
Anything by Tom Clancy; intricate spy novels.

15. What talent would you most like to have?
Artistry.
